“I am no bird; and no net ensnares me: I am a free human being with an independent will.” Charlotte Bronte -Jane Eyre
A bold and vibrant version of the classic story from one of Britain's most progressive female writers, Polly Teale’s version of Jane Eyre transforms the world of the nineteenth century novel into a wonderfully inventive theatrical experience. In this award winning version of the classic novel, concerned with nineteenth century female supression and repression, and what is possible or acceptable within Victorian society, it is the inner life and hidden passions of Charlotte Bronte’s novel that are fully explored.
