When Gretchen wakes up in a cold, dark place and realises she's been sent to hell in place of someone she's never met, she decides she's had enough of gods and fate and sets out to take her life into her own hands. Devised by a majority-female & nb ensemble, fester uses Goethe's Faust as a springboard to examine what it means to fight back and reject the paths set before us, through a mix of adaptation and physical theatre.
