It is the height of the industrial revolution. Day trippers travel to Southend-on-Sea longing to leave their troubles behind. However, rumours are growing that the Victorian obsession with progress has disturbed an an ancient creature bent on destruction. The locals know the sea offers no escape…

Come and see an original site specific promenade performance interweaving historical and contemporary stories of the human impact on the Essex Thames Estuary.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a site specific promenade performance, beginning on the beach to the right of the footbridge to Chalkwell Station and travelling along the Chalkwell Esplanade. Be prepared to walk on sand and along the coastal path. The production takes place outdoors and audience members are advised to dress for inclement weather.
