Philip Weaver is from the UK
Philip Weaver has worked as an actor for theatres including Birmingham Rep, Wolsey Ipswich, Salisbury Playhouse, Nottingham Playhouse, Glasgow Citizens, Theatr Clwyd, Colchester Mercury and The Scottish Chamber Orchestra among others. Work in London includes The Young Vic, The Lyric Hammersmith, The Kings Head, BAC and The Oval House. He has also performed in many radio plays for BBC Radio 4. Work abroad includes Holland, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden and Bratislava.
He is co-founder and Associate Director of Spinning Wheel Theatre Company. High points as a director include: R.S.C. Summer Studio, Artistic Director of The Man in the Moon Theatre, Chelsea, The Young Vic as Associate with Primitive Science Theatre Company and BAC among others. He has been a regular tutor at Mountview, Central School of Speech and Drama and Arts Educational.
Philip trained at The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and Goldsmiths’ College, University of London. His research interests are inspired by the work of Samuel Beckett, Antonin Artaud, Stanislavski and Michael Chekhov and their influence on modern actor training methodologies. His current research is Teaching Stanislavski Research Project with colleagues from RADA and Rose Bruford supported and funded by PALATINE and SCUDD
