Christina Gutekunst, Head of Voice

Christina Gutekunst is from Germany.

Christina GutekunstChristina Gutekunst has been coaching and teaching voice for over twelve years, both in Germany and England. She has been at East 15 for nearly ten years, first as a part-time tutor and then as Head of Voice for the past five years. Her passion is to fully integrate voice into the acting process.

Christina trained in voice and speech formation in Stuttgart, Germany, where she did a number of poetry projects, and, in England, at the Central School of Speech and Drama where she also did her MA (A) on closing the gap between voice and text. She has worked for numerous drama schools including Mountview, Drama Studio London and the Courtyard Theatre. She has also worked with Mind Citizens and given workshops for the Voice Care Network. European accent coaching includes coaching German with Ant and Dec for Saturday Night Live.

Christina also trained as an actor in Berlin, Bremen, Wangen and London. She toured in Germany with Michael Ende's Gaukler Maerchen and ran a children's home theatre group for three years in Wangen, South Germany. In England she set up her own company, Beyond Words Theatre Company. She was a founder member of the Re:Actors Theatre Group, for which she was assistant director and voice coach on Bryan Oliver's Night Breath and Philip Osment's Sleeping Dogs. She also directed at The Children and Teenagers' Caxton House Community Theatre. She has been a voice-over artist with Foreign Versions and directed voice-overs for Les Frogs.
