East 15 graduate wins Best Male Actor Spotlight Award
East 15 graduate John McKeever wins Best Male Actor Spotlight Award
We are delighted to announce that BA Acting and Contemporary Theatre graduate,
John McKeever, has won the prestigious Spotlight Prize for Best Male Actor
2009
He competed with 21 other actors for the prize, all from other leading
conservatoires who are members of the Conference of Drama Schools.
John was swift to credit his training at East 15 with his success, saying:
“I will always see East 15 as the place where it all went right and
where I enjoyed four incredible years. I was offered the Foundation course
(Cert/HE) where David Robson and his team concreted every inch of my resolve
to work hard. If ANYONE is offered this course, TAKE IT! I then discovered the
Contemporary Theatre course, and knew that was where I was going. The first
year was possibly the most fun I have ever had, and will forever be a source
of inspiration. The course is led by Uri Roodner and with no shame at all I
put every single success I have had, and may have in the future on this man,
and the Contemporary Theatre course.
But of course all these experiences and delights were and still are within the
willowed canopy of the "East 15 bubble".
Thank you doesn't cut it, but it's simple enough to work.”
